Not even Omar Minaya can truly believe that a lateral trade is about to save the injury-ravaged Mets from a gruesome spiral that seemingly has no end in sight.
The punchless Mets fell a season-high five games under .500 following a feeble four-hit showing against Bronson Arroyo in a 3-0 loss to the Reds Friday night at Citi Field.
And no, trade pickup Jeff Francoeur probably wouldn't have made much of a difference.
