Johan Santana quieted the team's biggest concern yesterday with 7-1/3 brilliant innings against the slugging Tampa Bay Rays.
Santana pitched a dominating game, reminiscent of his great start to the season. But the Mets managed only four hits and a single run in a 3-1 loss at Citi Field that included a 73-minute rain delay in the eighth inning. In one stretch 19 straight Mets were retired. Continue
