Carlos Delgado had been wearing out Ryan Church Wednesday morning, .needling the right fielder about whether he planned to homer again anytime soon. Church answered with a grand slam to highlight a six-run first inning as the Mets beat the Brewers, 9-2, and completed a sweep of the NL wild-card leaders.

I told him, 'Hey, I got it out of the way,' " said Church, who last went deep on June 1, before a seven-week absence he believes finally helped him heal from post-concussion symptoms. "It was good. I'm starting to get the stroke back. It's been a hectic year. I don't want to throw this last month away. I want to build on things, try to get back to how I was in the first half and finish strong."
